Oral history training is traditionally focussed on interview techniques and transcription. There is relatively little discussion of how we might engage with recorded interviews that are already publicly archived. This workshop will consider the methodological and ethical issues raised by the secondary reuse of interview material and the transformation of stand-alone interviews into searchable datasets that allow researchers to operate across multiple scales. The workshop will also consider the archival issues raised and showcase the more than 1000 hours of recorded interviews already in COHDS database environments available to researchers.
