Join us for a Lunch and Learn: Explore Israel through the lens of Concordia’s researchers
The Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies is hosting a series of interdisciplinary seminars throughout the year aimed at promoting a sharing of research and ideas for graduate students and faculty working on projects related to the study of Israel.
For our third and last seminar of the year, we'll be starting the event with Kristy Rogers (Masters Candidate, Department of Sociology and Anthropology) speaking on A History of Conflict Between Israel and Palestine: Can the U.N. Ever Facilitate a Two-State Solution?
She will be followed by Dr. Norrin Ripsman (Department of Political Science) who will examine Why Peacemaking Begins with States and Ends with Societies; Evidence from Arab-Israeli Peace Treaties.
Mike Rast (PhD Candidate, Department of History) will then discuss Rebellion Was Strong Amongst Them: Irish Jews and National Politics, 1900-1922.
The event will conclude with a presentation by Dr. Ira Robinson (Department of Religion) on Yehuda Kaufman (Even Shmuel): the Portrait of an Israeli Scholar, Intellectual, and Activist, 1927-1976.
Free lunch with your RSVP. We hope to see you there!
