The purpose of this talk will be to demonstrate how we can integrate several modalities to study brain activity, mainly applied to further understanding brain processes at the time of transient epileptic discharges. Three main approaches will be introduced:
localizing the generators of ElectroEncephaloGraphy (EEG)/ MagnetoEncephaloGraphy (MEG) signals along the cortical surface,
characterizing hemodynamic processes through fMRI and more recently Near InfraRed Spectroscopy (NIRS) at the time of spontaneous discharges measured with EEG,
characterizing patient specific reorganization of functional connectivity patterns using resting state fMRI, as a potential new biomarker.
