The CN Centre for Studies in Sustainable Supply Chain Management presents Dale S. Rogers, Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Arizona State University.

Sustainability is free.  Many believe that being environmentally conscious and socially responsible comes at the expense of economic performance.  This belief is simply not true.

The concept of sustainability is evolving and it has become an important part of the corporate strategy for many firms.  Companies performing better in sustainability tend to perform better in shareholder returns.  Building sustainability within a firm and its supply chain should enable that company to grow revenue through new products and services, reduce costs through efficiency gains, improve operational and regulatory risk management, and enhance assets such as brand and reputation.

Building sustainability within a firm and its supply chain should enable that company to grow revenue through new products and services, reduce costs through efficiency gains, improve operational and regulatory risk management, and enhance assets such as brand and reputation.

In this session, Professor Rogers will talk about how supply chains, and the firms that make up those supply chains, can achieve sustainability while not reducing profitability.  He will discuss how the term sustainability is applied within their organizations, the relevance and economic importance of sustainable supply chain management, how sustainable supply chains can be implemented, and future trends in sustainable supply chain management.
