Freedom is important for art, but art is also important for freedom. Art disrupts old patterns and makes us think. Art is impossible without freedom, but freedom is impossible without art. Sarah Skwire will discuss the importance of art in a free society.

Sarah Skwire is a Senior Fellow at the Liberty Fund and is the author of the popular college writing textbook Writing with a Thesis. She earned her PhD in English at the University of Chicago.

This talk is presented by the Institute for Liberal Studies and the Liberal Arts College at Concordia University. It is free and open to everyone. Those planning to attend are asked to register at www.liberalstudies.ca/events.
