Abstract

Many organizations face the difficult task of selecting the program. What are the differences among the programs, where these come from, what advantages each provide? These recurrent questions could have a very simple answer. During the presentation, we will see what are the origins of Lean, Kaizen and Six-sigma. A conceptual structure will be presented so all programs could be understood and compared with. At the end of the presentation, the participants will have a better understanding of differences and similarities among these programs and would forge an opinion about what would be useful for their organization.

 

Biography

Jean-Marc Legentil is the founder and president of Bell Nordic. He possesses more than 25 years in operation management, supervision, management and executive management. After his many successes in world class organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Pharmaceutical and Carrier, he moved to consulting and teaching at Montreal’s HEC and ETS universities in 1987. Since then, he’s coached, trained and helped numerous customers in organizational development, operations management, process improvement in manufacturing, services and health care.

Jean-Marc has worked over the years with a large number of Healthcare Centers, Hospitals and pharmacies in Quebec. He has provided these organizations with strategic planning, Lean training and has facilitated numerous Kaizen improvement events targeting clinical and non-clinical processes.

Process Improvement: 1) Has facilitated numerous Lean Kaizen events in Healthcare to help organizations tackle issues with strategic planning, hiring, scheduling, mental health, OR, Rx preparation, ER, etc. 2) Is currently piloting Strategic Planning and operational strategy at numerous clients.

Change Management: 1) Has integrated the change management concepts of Michel Maletto and Celine Bareil with the Lean Kaizen methodology.

Capacity Building: 1) Jean-Marc has been teaching Operations Management at HEC Montréal since 1981. 2) Since 1987 he’s hosted lectures and seminars for HEC and ETS universities. 3) From 1998 to 2012 he taught Operational Strategy and Operational Excellence at CIREM.
