Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering

Mr. John Reid
Bombardier-Canadair

Thursday, February 19 at 4:00 p.m.
Room EV003.309

Abstract

Supplier Quality Management in Aerospace, has evolved through the years in parallel, but not at the the same velocity, as that of the primary airframe manufacturers role as Airframe Integrators. We will look at this from my perspective, as a leader within the Supplier Quality world at our most famous Bombardier Aerospace, who being the 3rd largest behind that of the often tied for first, Airbus & Boeing. As with Automotive, the global supply base has grown, while the oversight of it has been pushed further down throughout. Consolidation by many System suppliers has added to the dilution of Supplychain readiness to support the ever increasing aircraft volumes. Yet, rest assured, flight is still by far the safest mode of transportation. This presentation will be a brief overview of Supplier Quality Management, and the challenges within the industry.
