One of CIADI's main goals is to advance knowledge through innovative research in aerospace in Canada by enriching the learning and research experience of highly qualified personnel, and by assisting industry in implementing research results and innovations. CIADI now forms a critical mass of aeronautics and space researchers. It facilitates collaborative aerospace research through the development and coordination of Industrial Research Chairs and Chairs in Design Engineering. It coordinates aerospace collaborative research through CRIAQ, CRIAQ International and NSERC CRD research and establishes a center of excellence for aerospace related research. CIADI currently has over 23 members comprised of professors from the Departments of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering.
