Fire procedures

 

If you smell something burning

  1. Contact Security at 3717 or 514-848-3717
  2. Wait for Security from a safe location and direct them to the area.

If you see smoke or fire

  1. Activate the building fire alarm by using a pull station
  2. Evacuate using the nearest emergency stairwell.
  3. On your way out, warn others.
  4. Use stairs only; do not use elevators or escalators.
  5. Close doors and windows if time permits.
  6. Once outside, move away from the building.
  7. Do not re-enter the building until instructed to do so by Security.

When you hear the fire alarm

  1. Stay calm; do not rush or panic.
  2. Safely stop your work.
  3. Gather your personal belongings; coat, purse, prescription medications, etc.
  4. Close and lock your door and windows.
  5. Use stairs only; do not use elevators or escalators.
  6. If your building has a public address system a message will be given.
  7. Once outside, move away from the building.
  8. Do not re-enter the building until instructed to do so by Security.

IT IS MANDATORY TO EXIT A BUILDING DURING A FIRE ALARM
