Adrien Néret wrote in to share how his CSEP experience is going so far. Are you interested in living a similar experience as Adrien? Then stop by our weekly information sessions and learn how you too can learn abroad as part of the Concordia Student Exchange Program!

It's been a month since I arrived in France! I spent a week in Paris, then moved to Cergy where school (ESSEC Business School) and my residence are. It's about 40 minutes from Paris. My apartment is 20 minutes from uni by foot, which is nice, because some residences require taking the train to get to them. I managed to get all my classes into 48 hours, so I can plan 5-day trips! So far, I've been to Lille, Amsterdam, Brussels, Marseille, Barcelona and Palma!

Residence is pretty cool. I have a shared studio (each a single room, with shared kitchen/bathroom). Here's my Snapchat story showing where I live and class. I've met other exchange students here, and we have dinner together sometimes :)

While in Paris, I went to Disneyland with friends from Montreal. The tall guy in blue is a huge Disney fan who has worked at the Orland park, so he planned out an optimal itinerary and gave us backstory to the attractions. We also went up the Eiffel Tower, visited the Catacombs, did a walking tour and went to the Louvre.

On the weekend on our first week of class, three friends and I rented a car and drove to Amsterdam for a few days. We stopped in Lille on the way there, and in Brussels on the way back. It was a bit rainy, but the weather cleared up Saturday afternoon so we got some nice pictures. Of course, we did a tour of the Heineken Brewery too.

Two weekends ago, I joined a trip organized by the exchange student association (called MELT) to Marseille. We walked around the city on Saturday, and on Sunday we visited the Calanques national park and swam in the Mediterranean!

Finally, last week since my last class was Tuesday afternoon, I left for Barcelona for 6 days with a friend. We stayed with a friend, and also visited Palma, on the island of Mallorca. I did a cooking class, shopped for shoes, went swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, and drank plenty of sangria. On the Wednesday morning, we ran into a protest for the independence of Catalonia. It was very peaceful, but will probably heat up as we get closer to the referendum (October 1st). It's organized by the local Catalan government, but is deemed unconstitutional by the Spanish government.
