Exam Anxiety Workshop for ACSD Students

Good news: if you face anxiety preparing for or taking tests, the Access Centre for Students with Disabilities is offering a unique workshop series featuring a yoga/meditation expert, counselling psychologist and learning specialist.

Worrying or anxious about exams? Help is on its way. The Test Anxiety Group offers you skills in stress reduction and test preparation that will help you cope with April final exams. We will feature a three-prong approach:

  1. Meditation practices that help you wind down;
  2. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approaches to get control of thoughts that defeat you;
  3. Robust study methods that help you perform, even when you’re under the influence of anxiety.

The workshop takes place over 3 Tuesdays: March 21, March 28, and April 4 - all from 5pm - 6:30pm.

If you want to attend:

It’s a small group. There are 8 spots left, open only to students registered with the ACSD.

Each session builds on the previous ones, so you’ll need to commit to attending all three dates.

To request a spot in the group, send an email to Charles.altman@concordia.ca by Saturday (March 18, 2017) at 9pm with the following information:

  • Name
  • Student number
  • Program year
  • Dates of your final exams

Note: students with final exams will have first priority.

Register by emailing Charles before Saturday, March 18th, at 9pm if you want to participate.
