Testing of drinking water for presence of lead

November 7, 2019
|

Dear members of the Concordia community,

Like all educational institutions in Quebec, Concordia has received instructions to undertake water testing for lead from the Ministère de l’éducation et de l’enseignement supérieur (MEES).

Concordia takes the safety of its community extremely seriously. Your health and wellbeing are a primary concern.

Concordia Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is conducting water sampling, in compliance with the government directive, and using the services of an accredited, independent laboratory.

Should EHS learn of any test results that are of concern, the Concordia community would be informed not to drink the water, pending further notice. An interim water supply would also be provided and corrective measures would be determined.

For any questions, concerns or feedback, please send an email to ehs@concordia.ca.

Best regards,

Frederic Guilhem, PhD
Acting Director, Environmental Health and Safety
