SPVM presence around SGW campus on Friday, March 15 in the late afternoon

March 14, 2019
|

Dear members of the Concordia community,

Montreal police have notified the university about a public protest — unrelated to Concordia. A demonstration by the Anti-Police Brutality Collective is planned for Friday, March 15, starting in Norman Bethune Square.

There is no reason to expect any disruption to regular daytime activities. However, police and protesters could start gathering near the corner of Guy St. and De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. around 5 p.m.

The SPVM will be deploying numerous officers on the edges of Concordia’s Sir George Williams Campus. Access in and out of the area could be complicated by the demonstration. Driving and exiting parking facilities could be especially challenging.

Anyone on campus who witnesses violence or suspects a threat can contact the university’s security at 514-848-3717.

For incidents that occur off campus, please call 911.

Roger Côté,
Vice-President, Services
