“Concordia is my second home,” says undergrad Emmanuel Telefoglou. The second-year urban planning student is the university’s Instagram curator for the month of September.

Launched in 2016, #CUseenby invites a Concordian to capture their vision of Montreal’s next-generation university and to share it with followers of the Concordia University Instagram account.

It’s a role Telefoglou is eager to play.

“Being Concordia's Instagram curator allows me to invite you to step into my shoes and see the way I see.”

Follow his journey via the #CUseenby hashtag.

'Instagram is a platform to express yourself in your best light'

Why did you want to be Concordia's Instagram curator?

Concordia is where I dive nose deep into my books, where I find the best nooks to study, where I meet my friends and where I cross paths with new people. Concordia is experienced by many, so why not show everyone the way I see it differently?

What do you hope to do with the Concordia Instagram account?

Concordia is much more than a university — it's a hub of social hangouts (Reggie's, anyone?), places to get a quick bite (meet you at The Hive later?) and, of course, somewhere to wind down from back-to-back lectures.

Sharing my lens with Concordia allows me to shed light on the university’s great qualities and highlight the people who walk their own path each day.

What are three or four of your favourite Instagram accounts?

If I had to pick, @imdrewscott, @thefashionmedley, @alyssa.nore and @yesmini_ are my Instagram gods. No questions asked, they serve their feed on a platter when it comes to the right layering of textures to landscape to their #OOTD (outfit of the day).

I must also show love to our Montreal design gurus @matt_and_nat for their taste in seasonal colour palettes and their ever-changing theme.

What tips do you have for Concordia students who are looking to make their Instagram accounts better, or just take great photos?

BE YOURSELF. Do not feel obliged to post a picture right after you're done eating your avocado and brie gluten-free sandwich. Take your time, and if the shot doesn't wow you, keep trying until it feels right.

Don’t be afraid of change and always break the mould. Instagram is a platform to express yourself in your best light. So, get out there.
