APR. 25 – City to shut off water in Faubourg Building and Grey Nuns Residence

UPDATE – April 25 at 2:05 p.m.: Water in the Faubourg Building and Grey Nuns Residence is expected to return at 3:00 p.m. today. The main water line will be flushed, however, as a precautionary measure. Please run your taps with clear water for two minutes before usage. If any changes occur, updates will be posted on the Concordia homepage and on social media channels (Facebook and Twitter).

On Tuesday, April 25, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the City of Montreal will be shutting off the domestic water supply to the Grey Nuns (1190 Guy St.) and the Faubourg buildings (1250 Guy St.). Fire protection systems will not be impacted.

During this time period, people are asked to please refrain from using the washrooms and drinking fountains in these buildings.

In the Grey Nuns residence, this shutdown will affect showers and washing machines. However, meal plans will still be available to students.

The Centre de la Petite Enfance Concordia (1185 St. Mathieu), will be closed for the day and will reopen on Wednesday, April 26.

People can access washroom facilities the John Molson Building (MB), Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV), the J.W. McConnell Building (LB) and the Henry F. Hall building.

Bottled water will be distributed to users in affected buildings during the shutdown.

Employees are expected to report to work as per their normal work schedule. Should employees require special accommodation, they should speak with their respective supervisors/managers.

Water is expected to gradually return to service after 3:00 p.m. Updates will be posted on the Concordia homepage and on social media channels (Facebook and Twitter).
