Concordia and TRAC (the labour union local comprising the university’s teaching and research assistants) have reached an agreement in principle.

The next steps in the process are to present the proposed collective agreement to the Concordia Board of Governors for final approval. Once approved, it will take effect upon being signed by both parties.

“We’re pleased that the hard work of TRAC and Concordia has resulted in this agreement in principle,” says Nader Jafari Nodoushan, president of the union. “Through dedication and respectful negotiations, we’ve reached the goals of both teams.”

Roger Côté, vice-president of Services, says the proposed agreement came through open and dynamic discussions between the two bargaining teams. “I applaud the efforts of both parties and look forward to building on this positive relationship with TRAC in future negotiations.”

The next meeting of Concordia’s Board of Governors is scheduled for September 26, 2016.
