Gone are the days of persuading your classmates to meet in a busy coffee shop or your apartment. Concordia has 34 group study rooms at the R. Howard Webster Library, Grey Nuns Reading Room and Georges P. Vanier Library

Book it with a tap and swish

The group study rooms on the third and fifth floors of the Webster Library now have tablets mounted outside their main doors. With a tap and swish you can view availability, book a room, check-in (a must!) and end your reservation. This new service was made possible by feedback that library users provided in a May 2016 pilot test.

Tip: Be sure to check in within the first 30 minutes of your reservation or the booking system will cancel it and make the room available to another group.

Using your smartphone, tablet or computer, you can also connect to the Concordia Library Booking System and reserve a room that fits your team’s availability.

What’s the advantage of a group study room?

Close the door to the outside world, settle into a comfy spot at the six-seater table and connect your laptop to a bright 46” LCD screen.

Wait a second! One of your team members is missing? No problem — the wide-angle USB camera makes virtual meetings possible too.

And best of all, group study rooms at the Webster and Vanier libraries are open 24/7 during the academic year. The Grey Nuns Reading Room and its dedicated study areas reopen on September 6 with convenient hours for individual and group sessions.

Working on your graduate thesis?
