Looking for a great source of organic vegetables?

Faculty and staff have a new opportunity to pick up a cornucopia of fresh vegetables at the Guy-Metro Building (GM) every week! Coop les Jardins de la Résistance will be delivering baskets of freshly picked organic vegetables every Tuesday from mid-June right through November.

The Ormstown farm pledges to offer a variety of vegetables each week, along with some fresh, seasonal herbs and fruits. Each basket includes enough vegetables for two adults who eat lots of vegetables during a week. Certified organic by Ecocert, the farm has been selling baskets through the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model since 2006.

Use your imagination! Instead of carting all of your produce home, consider keeping some at the office for your lunches. Or share a basket among your colleagues and start a salad club, like they did in Human Resources.

Employees who want to find out more about the program are invited to an information session at noon on Friday, April 10, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. in Room 1060-1 of the GM Building.

Missed the information session? Find out more from Isabelle Mailhot-Leduc, the Sustainable Food Systems Coordinator in Enviromental Health and Safety, at ext. 7863 or isabelle.m-leduc@concordia.ca. The deadline to enrol is June 9. Don't miss it!

For more information on the farm, including the types of vegetables they grow, visit their website.

Are you on the Loyola Campus? During the summer, the City Farm School holds garden markets every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the solar house behind Hingston Hall. Like their Facebook page to get their updates. Loyola is also a drop-off point for Lufa Farms. Find out more about the baskets they offer.
