Earth Day is a good opportunity to reflect on how everyday decisions can affect the planet, and to find ways to minimize that impact.

This April 22, Environmental Health and Safety’s Sustainability Team is inviting Concordians to stop by the lobby of the Guy-Metro (GM) Building. From 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the team will be pouring out free coffee and tea to anyone with a reusable mug.

For those who arrive empty-handed, they will also be selling responsibly made mugs for $4. The proceeds will be donated to the Concordia Greenhouse.

Disposable coffee cups are the single largest contributor to landfill waste at Concordia. In the GM Building alone, 150 disposable cups are used every day.

The Sustainability Team’s goal is to reduce this number. As community members, your support will play a key role in their success.

They hope to see you there, reusable mug in hand!

When:  Tuesday, April 22, 2014, 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Where:  GM Lobby, SGW Campus

Free coffee will also be available to reusable mug users throughout the day at the following cafés on the Sir George Williams Campus:

  • JavaU — Guy/Maisonneuve
  • Treats — GM Building, Metro Level
  • Starbucks — Guy/Maisonneuve
  • Tim Hortons — J. W. McConnell (LB) Building
  • Starbucks — Fourth floor of the Henry F. Hall (H) Building
