An advisory search committee for the University Librarian must be established prior to the expiry of the first mandate.

As such, Carolina Willsher, associate vice-president of Human Resources, is convening the Electoral College to nominate one member of the administrative and support staff from the Libraries to serve on this committee.

The advisory committee is assembled in accordance with the evaluation procedure for senior academic administrators and the president and vice-chancellor, Policy BD-5. The incumbent for the committee is nominated in accordance with the Electoral College Policy.

Nominations procedure
Any permanent full- or part-time member of the administrative and support staff from the Libraries may be nominated, make a nomination or endorse a nomination.

The nomination form must be signed and agreed to by the candidate, and bear the signature of the nominator, as well as the endorsement of five additional permanent full- or part-time members of the administrative and support staff from a relevant unit.

Candidates must submit a pen sketch: a personal description of their interest in the position on the committee.

Deadline for nominations
Nominations and pen sketches must be submitted by Thursday, July 4, 2013, to:
Carolina Willsher, associate vice-president of Human Resources, S-FB 1130 or fax to 2844.

Next Electoral College meeting
The Electoral College will convene on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members will be provided with the submitted pen sketches prior to the meeting and will schedule interviews for that date, if required.

Following the college’s nomination of a representative, the associate vice-president of Human Resources will submit the candidate's name to the Board of Governors' secretary.
