Undergraduate students from the humanities, social sciences and sciences presented oral and poster presentations to showcase their research and research-creation projects at a daylong event March 30, hosted by the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Since its inception in 2006, close to 500 students have participated in the annual Undergraduate Research Day. Judges evaluate the projects based on presentation, relevance and methodology.

This year, members of the organizing committee added a new category to the mix — the Students’ Choice Awards. Students were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite presentations or posters.

“We wanted to include more students in the event this year,” says Catherine Bolton, associate dean of Student Academic Services for the Faculty of Arts and Science. “What better way to do that than to allow them a chance to vote for their favorite presentation.”
