Young hopefuls and finalists in the 2011 edition of Expo-sciences, presented by Hydro-Québec, are setting up at Concordia University’s Sir George Williams Campus this weekend. Some 300 students from high schools and CEGEPS across Montreal, the South Shore, Laval, the Lower Laurentians and Lanaudière regions will present their unique projects to judges.

With more than 40 private and public schools participating, this constitutes the largest regional science fair in Quebec. Subjects to be tackled include solar phones, wind-power, colours of snow, e-coli bacteria, robotic security and an evaluation of acne treatments.

  • When: From 3 p.m., Sunday, March 27 until 4p.m., Tuesday, March 29.
  • Where: Ground floor Atrium, Engineering and Computer Science and Visual Arts Complex (EV Building), 1515 Ste. Catherine St. W., (corner Guy St.).
  • What: A full Expo-sciences program can be consulted on NOW news and events.

Inspired alumnus to deliver keynote
