Mireille Paquet

Asylum-seekers take refuge in the Olympic Stadium

Mireille Paquet, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was interviewed in the New York Times (reprised by Singapore's Straits Times) about the wave of asylum-seekers who are being housed temporarily in the Olympic Stadium. 

Paquet also appeared on CBC radio shows across the country including: Toronto – Here and Now, Halifax – Mainstreet, St. John’s – On the Go, Victoria – All Points West, Calgary – Homestretch, Whitehorse – Airplay, Cape Breton, Winnipeg – Up to Speed, Quebec City – Breakaway, Kelowna – Radio West and Edmonton – Radio Active.

She also appeared on Radio-Canada’s Midi info (scroll down to 12h11 “Réforme du système de l’immigration aux États-Unis”) and was interviewed by Public Radio International (heard at the 33-second mark and reprised by USA Today) and is quoted in a text version of the story, which is reprised The SpectrumCape and IslandsKWBU.org and Delmarva Public Radio.
