The Giants come to Montreal

One of the main events organized to mark Montreal’s 375th anniversary is a parade of robotic “Giants” that will take place May 19 through 21. The large-scale marionette show was created by the French street theatre company Royal de Luxe. But Montreal also has an active culture of street puppetry. Theatre artist Mark Sussman is an expert on street puppetry who can outline the history and technical skills behind these types of popular events.
