Bombings in Egypt
At least 44 people were killed and another 100 were wounded on Sunday, April 9 when Coptic churches were the targets of bombings in two Egyptian cities. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for both attacks. Kyle Matthews, executive director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS), and André Gagné, associate professor in the Department of Theological Studies, can provide perspective on the weekend violence.
