April 2 marks World Autism Day. Kathleen O'Grady, researcher at the Simone de Beauvoir Institute, says:
In 2012, Canada officially passed Bill S-206, An Act Respecting World Autism Awareness Day, introduced by Senator Munson. World Autism Day is an opportunity for Canada to commit to doing better to provide necessary supports and services for those with autism so they can thrive. But it is also a day to mark the achievements of those with autism and to celebrate the progress we have made.
