  • Jason Edward Lewis, Professor of computation arts, director of the Initiative for Indigenous Futures (IIF) and Concordia University Research Chair in Computational Media and the Indigenous Future Imaginary, is quoted in a news release announcing the Symposium on the Future Imaginary, Thursday, November 30 to Saturday, December 2 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery: Nation Talk.
  • A report on CBC's The National about "Islamic Jihadism" mentions Concordia's SOMEONE (SOcial Media EducatiON Every day) initiative and includes an off-camera appearance by SOMEONE initiator Vivek Venkatesh, associate professor of education in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Venkatesh is heard at the 11:40 mark.
  • The Winnipeg Art Gallery announces a screening of the TimeTraveller multiplatform media project, created by artist Skawennati Fragnito, coordinator of the Milieux Indigenous Futures research cluster at Concordia. The screening, next Thursday, November 28 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, will be followed by a panel discussion with Skawennati and Concordia's Jason Edward Lewis, referenced in the item above.
  • Lien Multimédia (behind a paywall) talks to filmmaker Julien Cadieux about his film, Sheldrake, documenting the 19th century leper colony on Sheldrake Island, at the mouth of New Brunswick's Miramichi River. The film was produced as part of the Lost Stories project, headed by Ronald Rudin, history professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
  • Tourisme Express references the  Centre for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (CENPARMI) at Concordia in a news release announcing that the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) will be held in Montreal in October, 2021. The release lists CENPARMI among Montreal's biggest draws for leading expertise in artificial intelligence and information technology.
