  • CNW release, published this morning, announces that 97 Concordia faculty members and graduate students have been awarded new federal funding totaling $9.3-million. The funding, being provided through the federal government's Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), is part of a package totaling more than $265-million, covering over 3300 social sciences and humanities research projects across Canada. In making this morning's announcement at the John Molson School of Business, federal Minister of Science, Kirsty Duncan, highlighted the work of two social sciences and humanities researchers at Concordia: Philip Abrami, Concordia University Research Chair and professor in and director of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (CSLP) at Concordia, and artist Bettina Forget, a master’s student in Art Education at Concordia whose work focuses on art grounded in science.
  • The trade magazine Électricité Plus runs two articles in which Concordia and Concordians are featured: the first piece, Distingués scientifiques du génie relates the awarding of the  'Prix du Québec' for research to Christophe Guy, VP, Research and Graduate Studies; the second article, Hydro-Québec investit 3,9 M$ dans la recherche à l’Université Concordia, concerns the recent announcement of a $3.9-million Hydro Quebec investment in Concordia research (the Concordia University Hydro-Québec Thales Senior Industrial Research Chair in Smart Grid Security, the NSERC/Hydro-Québec Senior Industrial Research Chair in Design and Performance of Small Electrical Machines and the NSERC/Hydro-Québec Senior Industrial Research Chair in Optimized Operation and Energy Efficiency). 
  • Radio Canada International lists Concordia among the partners who have developed the new Quebec literary mobile application, 'Opuscules'
