  • Gears of Biz and NewsMax pick up news of nanoelectronics research at Concordia that examines electron behaviour within nanoelectronics and could open new engineering possibilities to improve smart devices. The study, published in the journal, Nature Communications, was co-authored by Concordia. PhD student Andrew McRae (MSc 13) and Alexandre Champagne, associate professor of physics, chair of the Department of Physics and the Concordia University Research Chair in Nanoelectronics and Quantum Materials in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Concordia alumni, James M. Porter (MSc 15, BSc 11) and Vahid Tayari (PhD 14) also collaborated on the study.
  • Voir Vert joins coverage of the recent announcement of a $3.9-million Hydro Quebec investment in research at Concordia, with the bulk of the money being shared by three Concordia University chairs: the Concordia University Hydro-Québec Thales Senior Industrial Research Chair in Smart Grid Security, held by Mourad Debbabi, professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE); the NSERC/Hydro-Québec Senior Industrial Research Chair in Design and Performance of Small Electrical Machines, held by electrical and computer engineering professor Pragasen Pillay; the NSERC/Hydro-Québec Senior Industrial Research Chair in Optimized Operation and Energy Efficiency, held by building engineering professor Andreas Athienitis.
