  • Le Journal de Montréal reports that the Université de Montréal football team, Les Carabins, is demanding that a game against the Concordia Stingers that was cancelled either be rescheduled or be counted as a win for the Carabins. The Université de Montréal team says it is penalized in the standings by the cancellation, made necessary by an outbreak of gastroenteritis in the Carabins dressing room.
  • The Université de Montréal student paper Quartier Libre references a Radio Canada news story quoting a Venezuelan Concordia student, an engineering doctoral candidate identified only as 'Fernando', about the Venezuelan government's move to block international transfers of money. The report indicates that the currency crunch is creating a difficult situation for numerous Venezuelans studying in Quebec.
