On Tuesday, April 7 Kyle Matthews, senior deputy director and lead researcher at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS), appeared on Al Jazeera’s The Stream to discuss what impact a Canadian airstrike against ISIS will have on the Syrian crisis.

On Saturday, April 4 Matthews appeared on CBC’s Day 6 debating with journalist, Gwynne Dyer, on whether Canada’s engagement in Iraq and Syria is morally justified. The program will be played on over 40 NPR stations across the U.S.

Matthews was also quoted on CBC.ca and Radio-Canada.ca about a letter to members of the Quebec National Assembly in which Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Canada complains of Quebec interference in Saudi affairs. The letter, dated March 10, was a response to Quebec government criticism of the jailing and torture of Saudi blogger Raif Badawi. The 32-year-old blogger, openly critical of religious authorities in his country, was tried and sentenced to 10 years, 1,000 lashes and a fine equivalent to $287,000.

On March 31, he participated in a panel discussion on CBC's The Current about extending and expanding Canada's middle east military mission against ISIS. Listen to the discussion. Matthews is first heard at the 5:54 mark.
