2014-2015 Doctoral Fellows and recipients of research funding


The Luc Beauregard Centre of Excellence in Communication Research recently announced the winners of its annual call for research proposals and its annual doctoral fellowship competition.

Luc Beauregard Doctoral Fellowships

Each year the Centre awards up to two doctoral fellowships, each worth $17,500.

The 2014-2015 Luc Beauregard Doctoral Fellows are:

  • Sam Kolahgar (Finance, JMSB) for his proposal titled “The impact of communications and public relations on firms’ risk and stock price volatility” (Supervisor: H. Bhabra).
  • John Aylen (Marketing, JMSB) for his proposal titled “When scandal breaks, what is the PR fix? Arthur Porter, SNC-Lavalin and the McGill University Hospital Centre: Lessons in Reputation Management”.
Annual call for research proposals

This year’s call focused on reputational risk management.

This year’s research grant recipient is:

  • Peter Jaskiewicz (Management, JMSB) for his proposal titled “The Dark Side of Favorable Reputation – How Stakeholders who Identify Strongly with a Firm Oppose Change”.
