Reena Atanasiadis: The new director of the MBA in Investment Management

Atanasiadis takes over from Ian Rakita on June 1

JMSB Dean Anne-Marie Croteau is pleased to announce the appointment of Reena Atanasiadis to the position of Director, MBA in Investment Management for a three-year term, beginning June 1, 2018.

Atanasiadis is a senior lecturer in the Department of Finance and currently director of the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management program.

“Reena knows the MBA in Investment Management program well, having taught in it since 2005,” says Croteau.  “She brings a wealth of administrative experience to her new role, including the years she spent as JMSB’s Director of AACSB Administration. She has also been very involved in the John Molson case competition program as a coach, and is the director of the Van Berkom-JMSB Small Cap Case Competition.”

As program director, Atanasiadis will be responsible for assuring the academic integrity and excellence of the program, as well as ensuring that the program meets the criteria of the new accreditations we are pursuing.

She replaces Ian Rakita who has held the position since 2007 and who has just taken on a new role as president of the Concordia University Faculty Association (CUFA).

Croteau thanked Rakita for his years of service. “The MBA in Investment Management would not be where it is today if it were not for Ian. His dedication and deep knowledge of finance have helped create a truly unique program that offers a preparation for writing the CFA exams that is unparalleled. Under his leadership, the program’s Level I exam writers have consistently had a pass rate that is near or better-than double the worldwide pass rate. I wish him the best in his role as CUFA president.”
