New department chairs in Accountancy and Management

Sophie Audousset-Coulier and Jisun Yu begin three-year terms on June 1

Anne-Marie Croteau, dean of the John Molson School of Business has announced the election of two department chairs.

Sophie Audousset-Coulier and Jisun Yu, have been elected chairs of the Department of Accountancy and the Department of Management, respectively.

Sophie Audousset-Coulier

Audousset-Coulier is an associate professor of accountancy whose areas of expertise include audit, corporate governance, financial reporting and pensions. She takes over from Charles Draimin, who has been chair of the accountancy department since 2012.

Croteau thanked Draimin for his six years as chair. “Under his leadership, an honours program in accountancy was established and our CPA program was revised to address the consolidation of accounting designations. Charles also served on the Faculty Personnel Tenure Committee and on Senate. I wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

Jisun Yu

Jisun Yu is an associate professor of management, whose research examines the nature and effectiveness of political activities of multinational corporations in various host country contexts, the internationalization process of financial service firms, and the role of information technology in MNCs' global operations.

Yu replaces Linda Dyer who served two terms as chair, beginning in 2012.

“Linda has been an incredibly active member of the JMSB community,” says Croteau. “She co-founded the Annual Graduate Research Exposition to give our PhD and MSc students an opportunity to showcase their research, she oversaw the revision of our major in human resource management and ushered in an honours program in management. Recently, she was awarded Concordia’s Academic Leadership Award.”

“I thank her for her tireless dedication and wish her the very best for the future.”

“These appointments will bring new ideas and positive energy to JMSB,” says Croteau. “Please join me in welcoming Sophie and Jisun into their new roles and in wishing them the very best in their upcoming terms which begin on June 1.”
