Dean of the John Molson School of Business (JMSB), Anne-Marie Croteau has announced that Kathleen Boies has been appointed Associate Dean, Research and Research Programs. Her three-year term begins September 1.

Boies is a professor in the Department of Management and is the Concordia University Research Chair in Leadership Development. Her research, which has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Fonds Québécois de Recherche sur la Société et la Culture, focuses on leadership in educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and private industry. In 2006, she received the JMSB Dean’s Junior Researcher Award.

As associate dean, Boies will have oversight of the Faculty research plan and advise the dean on strategies to improve JMSB’s research profile. “Kathleen is an accomplished researcher,” says Croteau. “She will play a crucial part in ensuring that we continue to meet the research-related goals set out in our strategic plan. Please join me in welcoming her to this new role”

Boies replaces Thomas Walker, who served as associate dean for the last year. “I would like to thank Thomas for his work as associate dean,” says Croteau. “JMSB was successful in attracting funding from a variety of agencies during his tenure.”
