Nominations and wins for Theatre alumni at Dora awards in Toronto

Theatre alumna Anna Chatterton, BFA Theatre Performance (1997), Mary Francis Moore, BFA Drama in Education (1992), and Evalyn Parry, BFA Drama in Education (1997), were all nominated for 2016 Dora Awards, the Toronto theatre equivalent to a the Tonys.

Moore was awarded the Outstanding New Play (Young Audience division) prize, as part of a writing collective with Maja Ardal, Audrey Dwyer and Julia Tribe, for One Thing Leads To Another. She currently works as the resident artist educator at Young Peoples Theatre in Toronto.

Parry and Chatterton, with Karin Randoja, were also nominated for outstanding new play (General Theatre category) for Gertrude and Alice. Chatterton is a playwright-in-residence at Tarragon Theatre in Toronto, while Parry is the artistic director at Buddies in Bad Times, a theatre company that focuses on issues surrounding sexual and cultural norms.
