Sarah Nance is an interdisciplinary artist whose site-responsive work constructs relationships between light, geology and time—elements that contribute to our understanding of place. Much of her research is based in northern coastal regions of Canada, Iceland and the U.S. Nance is currently Assistant Professor in Fibres & Material Practices at Concordia University.



Nance's recent exhibitions include: 1708 Gallery in Richmond, VA; Antenna in New Orleans, LA; TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary, AB; Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum in San Antonio, TX; and SÍM Gallery in Reykjavík, Iceland; with upcoming solo exhibitions at Galerie Octave Cowbell in Metz, France and FOFA Gallery in Montréal, QC. Recent awards include the La Soupée Project Grant (Galerie Diagonale), and the Third Culture Conversations Grant (Oregon Arts Commission).
