Sherry Walchuk lives and works in Mission BC and Montréal QC. She holds a BA in Literature and a BFA in Visual Art from Simon Fraser University, and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University (2012). Walchuk's practice includes painting, drawing, sculpture and installation. She is interested in vernacular attempts at meaning making: acts of puttering, fake-making and home renovations. Her work has been published in Canadian Art and Border Crossings Magazine, and has been exhibited at artist-run centres and galleries, including Articule and Lisa Kehler Art + Projects. In April of 2018, Walchuk will be leading a housebuilding workshop at Art City in Winnipeg.
