Former Film Production student receives accolades

Carlo Guillermo Proto’s feature-length documentary, RESURRECTING HASSAN, received The Special Jury Prize for Canadian Feature at HOT DOCS 2017 and Best Canadian Documentary Prize at International Film Festival Les Percéides 2017.  It also was the Grand Prize winner for Best Canadian Feature and Student Award at RIDM 2016.

With a tenacious passion, the Harting family makes a living singing acappella ballads in the Montreal metro. This blind family of three are still haunted by the tragic death of the only sighted member, Hassan, who tragically drowned at the age of six.  For the Hartings, Hassan's resurrection is their only hope to reunite their family.
