Creative Arts Therapies team + Campus Wellness & Support Services receive inaugural Concordia SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation Award

Congratulations to the Creative Arts Therapies Training Clinic Committee led by Professors Heather McLaughlin (Art Therapy), Bonnie Harnden (Drama Therapy), and Guylaine Vaillancourt (Music Therapy) who received one of the first Concordia SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation Awards in partnership with Gaya Arasaratnam, Director, Campus Wellness & Support Services, Concordia University, Access Centre for Students with Disabilities | Counselling & Psychological Services | Health Services. They are grateful for the support from the Dean of the Faculty of Fine ArtsRebecca Duclos and Executive Director, Students Services/Student Success CenterLaura Mitchell

The project aims to create a training clinic where creative arts therapies students can apply their learning, and students and community members can access affordable mental health services. As part of the process, the teams will develop a model for how academic institutions can integrate creative arts therapies and experiential learning into a holistic wellness ecosystem.

This is the first round of funded projects for SHIFT, showcasing the impressive variety of social issues being tackled  and the power of multi-stakeholder collaborations.
