Two Concordians won prestigious art awards at a ceremony last night at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Artist Cynthia Girard-Renard, a new faculty member in Concordia’s Department of Studio Arts, has won this year's Prix Louis-Comtois. Alumna Hua Jin (MFA 15) also took home a brand new award launched by the Conseil des arts de Montréal and the Ville de Montréal: Cultural Diversity in the Visual Arts Award.
Two more faculty members were finalists. Chih-Chien Wang (MFA 06), a new photography professor, was a finalist for the Prix Louis-Comptois and part-time faculty Jinyoung Kim (MFA 14) was a finalist for the Prix Pierre-Ayot.
