Prof. Matthias Fritsch presents paper on "Environmental Historicity and Futurity"
Prof. Matthias Fritsch will present a paper at the 58th Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy (SPEP) Conference, hosted by Duquesne University, October 31-November 2, 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The paper is titled "Turning About in the Earth: A Reading of Sophocles’ Antigone in View of Environmental and Intergenerational Relations," part of a panel on "Environmental Historicity and Futurity."
He will also be a respondent on a panel discussion about his latest book "Taking Turns With the Earth: Phenomenology, Deconstruction, and Intergenerational Justice," published by Stanford University Press. Panelists include Patricia Glazebrook, Washington State University, and Jason Wirth, Seattle University. The panel is moderated by Gabriela Basterra, New York University.
