  • Nine prisoners convicted for drug trafficking were executed in Karoun, Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province, on May 12, 2014.

  • Four prisoners convicted for murder were executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison, West Azerbaijan Province, on May 14, 2014.

  • A prisoner convicted for murder was executed in Semnan Central Prison, Semnan Province, on May 15, 2014.

“A citizen from Salmas was executed”, affiliated with the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Tehran, in Persian, 15 May 2014

  • Majid Jalili Ayn, a citizen from Salmas, was executed in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province, on May 13, 2014. 
  • Jalili Ayn was executed together with three other prisoners, Vahid Pesouhideh, Ghader Anbari and Aslan Amouvi Milan.

“Two Arab political activists were arrested in Malashieh”, affiliated with the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Tehran, in Persian, 12 May 2014

  • Hatem Dahimi and Ebrahim Dahimi, two Arab political activists, were arrested in the region of Malashieh on May 12, 2014.
  • HRANA reported that Hatem and Ebrahim were apprehended by Intelligence officers and transferred to an unknown location.

“At least three Sunni activists were arrested in Kurdistan Province”, affiliated with the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Tehran, in Persian, 14 May 2014

  • Ahmad Kerami, Nasser Zarei and Adel Majrod, three Sunni activists, were arrested by security forces on May 13, 2014.

“Two Sunni citizens were arrested in Baneh”, affiliated with the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Tehran, in Persian, 15 May 2014

  • Fazel Ch.oupani, a professor at a religious school, and a 15-year-old named Laghman were arrested by security forces in Baneh on May 14, 2014.
  • An informed source told HRANA that the arrest of these two Sunni citizens was linked to the recent wave of arrest targeting Sunni Arab citizens in Iran. 
3. TWO BAHA’I CITIZENS ARRESTED TO SERVE PRISON TERMS

“Elham Farahani and Shamim Na’imi were arrested for the serve their sentences”, affiliated with the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Tehran, in Persian, 13 May 2014

  • Two Baha’i citizens from Tehran, Elham Farahani and Shamim Na’imi, were arrested to serve their sentences.
  • According to HRANA, security forces apprehended a mother and her son and transferred them to Evin Prison on May 11, 2014. 
  • Elham Farahani was sentenced to four years of imprisonment and her son, Shamim Na’imi, was sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
  • Adel Na’imi, the husband and father of Elham Farahani and Shamim Na’imi is also currently serving a two-year prison term.
