1. Ituri: FARDC confront the rebel group UPLC in Mambasa

  • May 28, the FARDC led a surprise attack against the rebels ULPC, who were heavily armed.
  • This is the second attack by the ULPC this month. 
2. Two ADF terrorists killed by the FARDC

  • FARDC killed two ADF terrorists, who were recovering military equipment in Bambanda.
  • FARDC continue offense in Butare, Walikale and  South Kivu. 
3. RDC: Former CENI chairman, Abbot Apollinaire Malumalu dead

  • Former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Abbot Apollinaire Malumalu died June 1 in Atlanta.
  • Father Malumalu directed the election commission in the DRC twice, beginning in 2006.
