A change in leadership for the LSRC

June 1, 2019

Outgoing LSRC director Dr. Raymond Paquin

On June 1, 2019, Dr. Raymond Paquin's term as Director of the Loyola Sustianability Research Centre comes to an end. Moving forward, Drs. Amy Poteete and Jochen Jaeger will share the position.

We are very grateful to Dr. Paquin, who has led the Centre through an important and intense two years of innovation. Under his directorship, the annual Sustainability Across Disciplines conference has blossomed into a multi-day, cross-faculty event that hosts hundreds every year. In this time, the Centre has also developed an annual Igniting Sustainability session, several exciting new collaborative research projects, and a monthly seminar series that has hosted numerous inspiring speakers. Dr. Paquin leaves us solidly placed to tackle some of the most pressing issues of the day. We will miss his leadership in this position but look forward to his continued inspiration and drive as a fellow of the Centre.

We are very excited to have Drs. Amy Poteete and Jochen Jaeger coming on as co-directors and look forward to continued collaboration and new projects as the Centre continues to grow. Hailing from the Department of Political Science and the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, respectively, Drs. Poteete and Jaeger are inspirational researchers in their respective fields and have long been dedicated fellows of the Centre. Stay tuned as this new team develops plans for the coming year, including new and thought-provoking events and collaborations!
