The Concordia University Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies announces a lecture by Professor Maryam Dilmaghani, St. Mary’ University, Halifax.

“The Economic Attainment of Canadian Jewry from the 1900s into the 2010s: a Quantitative Examination Using Census Records”

The lecture will take place on Monday, April 8 at 7:00 PM in the Religions and Cultures Department Seminar Room (R-103, 2050 McKay Street (Metro: Guy-Concordia). Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. Maryam Dilmaghani is an Associate Professor of Economics at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She holds a PhD in economics from McGill University. Dr. Dilmaghani’s overall research is on the “Economics of Minorities.”


Examining the economic outcomes of Canadian Jewry from several perspectives, her papers have been published in journals such as Contemporary Jewry, Review of Economics of the Household, Journal of Labor Research, and Labor History.
