Concordia University’s Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies and the Azrieli Institute for Israel Studies presents:
Professor Allan Nadler (Drew University)
"The Maimonides from Montreal: Rabbi Nachum Rabinovitch"

This lecture will provide an introduction to the life and thought of Montreal-born Israeli Rabbi Nachum Rabinovitch, who recently completed a comprehensive commentary on Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah, Yad Peshuta (19 volumes). In addition, Rabinovitch has published several volumes of responsa (including She'elot u-Teshvot Melumadei Milchama, that deals with halakhic issues facing soldiers in the IDF). His collection of essays, Mesilot Bilvavam, articulates a vision of how the State of Israel can be fully democratic and fully Jewish.
