Kate Bevan-Baker wins prestigious Dobbin Scholarship

We are delighted to announce that Kate Bevan-Baker, a PhD Humanities student at the School of Canadian Irish Studies, has just won the prestigious Dobbin Scholarship.  Kate is supervised by Dr. Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin, the Johnson Chair in Quebec and Canadian Irish Studies, and her thesis will focus on music history and vernacular fiddling in Prince Edward Island & Îles de la Madeleine.  Kate will spend part of 2016 studying Irish traditional music and ethnomusicology at University College Cork with Dr. Mel Mercier
