Dr. Jane G. V. McGaughey elected President of the Canadian Association for Irish Studies

By Matina Skalkogiannis

We are delighted and proud to announce that our own Dr. Jane G. V. McGaughey has been elected the new President of the Canadian Association for Irish Studies (CAIS) at its recent conference in Halifax. The School enthusiastically supports Dr. McGaughey and her efforts to continue promoting Irish Studies in Canada and abroad.  Also, Jérémy Tétrault-Farber, one of our excellent PhD students, was elected Secretary-Treasurer.

Members of the School made a very impressive showing at the CAIS conference with no less than nine graduate students and seven full-time faculty and fellows presenting their latest research projects and chairing panels.  We are proud of the School's growing presence in the field and will continue to strive for excellence in teaching and research.
