PhD Student, Brandon Webb, Published in American Quarterly

PhD student Brandon Webb has published an article in the American Quarterly entitled "Laughter Louder than Bombs? Apocalyptic Graphic Satire in Cold War Cartooning, 1945-1959," American Quarterly volume 70, no. 2 (June 2018): 235-266. The cover of this issue also features a cartoon from Brandon’s piece (http://muse.jhu.edu/issue/38720) and the American Quarterly asked Brandon to contribute a short online supplement that is meant to spur further discussion as well as provide additional research materials/links. His contribution can be found here: (https://www.americanquarterly.org/beyond/index.html). Brandon has also received a Swann Foundation Fellowship research grant with the Library of Congress. It includes a two-week stay researching the Library's extensive cartoon collections, and a research stipend. Additionally, Brandon will be giving a public lecture at the Library of Congress at a future date.
